Caroline's Fairytale
I lived in a world of fairies and wonder as a child. Then my father died suddenly when I was 12, and life as I knew it came to an abrupt end. Two weeks after his death there was an earthquake, the only serious one experienced in my country in many years. This just confirmed for me that my world really was falling apart and to spare myself more hurt I built a hard shell around my heart. Childhood dreams flew out of the window. How could there be wonder in a world where such terrible things could happen?
It took many years for me to address all of my issues and slowly break down the hard shell I had built around myself. But in the last few years I have been on a journey of reawakening and I have had some amazing experiences. I now firmly believe that I am surrounded by loving Angels that protect and guide me on my journey. The other morning as I was waking I heard a female voice saying the words “Edenvale Angel”.
I also recently experienced a great need to create a fairy garden and I used a bird feeder for this. The roof is covered with leaves and it is surrounded by tiny flowers and stones. I am always finding things to add – a few red berries, a guinea fowl feather, an acorn cup, a shell filled with water. My fairy garden gives me so much pleasure and has awakened the childlike wonder in my heart once more. I believe that I was led to create this garden as a way of healing the hurts from my childhood experiences.
Whether it was the Angels or the Fairies who whispered the idea to me I do not know, I only know that it has been a wonderful healing experience and I thank them.
